Nike SB Dunk High Pro - Premier Win Some, Lose Some Release Date - August 2018 Retail: $110 Box Color: Teal Box Era (December 2013 - December 2019) 881758-217 (Vachetta Tan/White-Jersey Gold) There’s something about the allure of chance that inspires us to repeatedly try our luck. From making bets to scratching lotto tickets, this “Win Some, Lose Some” mentality inspired the latest Nike SB x Premier Dunk High collaboration. While most pairs of the shoe’s “scratch-off” Swoosh reveal a metallic gold finish, 1% of pairs purchased through SNKRS also reveal a co-branded, lottery ticket-inspired pattern. “We wanted to design something that looked extraordinarily clean and simple, but that’s more than what it first appears to be,” says Chris Gray of Premier Skateshop, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. “We wanted to take the reveal to a new level and have a small amount of something special out there, just waiting to be discovered.” Gray recalls his days working at a gas station, where he sold scratch-off tickets to people from all walks of life. “This limo driver used to come in and drop $100 on $20 tickets everyday,” he says. “Another guy would buy a clip of dollar tickets, get back in line, and scratch them while he was waiting to buy more.” After experimenting with some bold options and patterns, Premier and Nike designers landed on a premium, vachetta tan and white leather combination with gold accents. They put “Win Some, Lose Some” beneath the lace flaps and gold foil on the tongue tag, insole, and translucent outsole. “While it's possible to find a ‘winning” pair,’ like scratch-off tickets, the odds are not in your favor,” adds Gray. “Consider yourself lucky if you discover a winner.”

Anderson led much of the collection’s development over the last year during work sessions at Blue Ribbon Studios. He made the Dunk black with a gumsole and put his initials, “BA,” on the left heel. Taylor’s input informed the Blazer, which is grey with a gum sole and has his initials, “GT,” on the right heel. Both shoes have the numbers “1” and “8” on them. The numbers are clever code for AH (AntiHero), with the “1” referring to “A,” the first letter of the alphabet, and the “8” referring to “H,” the eighth letter of the alphabet. “We're pretty lucky in SB, because a lot of our athletes are also artists,” says Jesse Leyva, Senior Design Director for Nike SB.” One of the best elements of this collaboration, and what makes it truly unique, is that the athletes are the ones—Brian really—who said, ‘We should do this!’”
