What hats do skaters wear?

Skaters mostly wear snapbacks, strapbacks, 5-panel and 6-panel caps, and beanies from skate brands. Here's the difference:

Snapback

A structured cap with a plastic snap closure in the back. Shop snapbacks.

Strapback

A cap with a fabric or leather strap and buckle in the back, usually softer and lower. Shop strapbacks.

6-panel vs 5-panel

A 6-panel cap is sewn from six pieces and sits taller. A 5-panel has one wide front panel and sits flatter.

Trucker hat

What kind of socks do skaters wear?

Skaters usually wear crew socks that come up over the ankle. The extra height protects your ankles from board hits and grip tape, and cushioning at the heel and ball of the foot helps with hard landings. Skate socks here come mostly from Stance, plus Stingwater and ThirtyTwo.

What does skate wax do?

Skate wax makes ledges, curbs and rails slicker so your trucks and board slide instead of sticking. Rub a little on the edge you're skating, not on your board. Skate wax is made harder than candle wax, so it lasts longer and doesn't turn gummy. Candle wax works in a pinch. Wax here comes from Primitive, Deathwish and Shake Junt.

What is a skate tool for?

A skate tool is a pocket-size wrench with sockets that fit the nuts and bolts on a skateboard. You use it to tighten or loosen your trucks, change wheels and bearings, and swap hardware.

How often should I replace my skateboard hardware?

Replace hardware when a bolt strips, bends or won't hold tight. Many skaters keep a spare set in their bag so one bad bolt doesn't end a session.

Are snapbacks one size fits all?

Most snapbacks adjust to fit most adult heads. Fitted caps come in set sizes, so check the product details before you order.

Can I return accessories?

Yes, within 30 days of shipment if the item is unused and in sellable condition with tags attached. Sale items are final sale.
