Trucks are a very important aspect to think about when putting together your first board. The trucks are the focal point of your set up. The trucks are mounted to the bottom of the board and allow you to roll, turn and grind. Most trucks are made of an aluminum alloy. Some trucks brands have started making trucks with Hollow Axles and Kingpins to make the effect of your board feeling lighter thus making it easier to flip your board. Choosing your trucks right size
When choosing your trucks there is one main thing to keep in mind and that is the size of the trucks. The edge of your axle bolts should match up perfectly aligned with the width of the deck you have just chosen. Although, all the brands make trucks to fit all size boards, you need to make sure you have the right sizing number. The sizing number determines what size truck fits its corresponding deck size ex. Independent 149 fits boards 8.25"-8.38" as appose to Ace Trucks size 44 fits decks 8.25"-8.75"
